Arthur Pegler – 28/7/15 – France

Dear Queenie

Just a line hoping you re in good health and all at home. I wrote Dad a letter last night hope he received it safe. Well how are things at Horsfield now about the same as ever I suppose. How is Wally getting on, no one ever mentions him ask him to drop a line hope he is in good health and doing well in his little business. Percy is still away soldiering.

Has Billy come home yet? He ought to be able to take a weekend, tell him to buck up and have one. Things seem very quiet up here have not heard the guns for some days now. The Germans on this front seem to be having a rest.

We are having a beautiful weather here, I believe you have had a lot of rain just lately, the farmers are just beginning  to get the crops in here. It seems more peaceful here than in Bristol and we are only around 15 miles behind the firing line.

Well Queenie it is just getting dark here and can hardly see to write so must close, fondest love to mother and all

I remain

your loving Brother
